Dental Health At Providence Vet, our team can provide a number of specialized dental care services right here in our office. From routine dental exams for dogs and cats to thorough teeth cleaning, extractions, and other dental treatments, weโ€™re here to help your pet achieve optimal dental and oral health.

Routine Exams & Cleanings When you bring your pet in for routine cleanings and exams, youโ€™re doing your part to staying on top of your petโ€™s oral health. During pet teeth cleanings, our dog dentist is able to carefully remove plaque and tartar build-up not just from the surfaces of your petโ€™s teeth, but from below the gum line as well. This results not only in healthier teeth but fresher breath as well. And of course, these routine cleanings protect your pet from common dental problems, including gum disease and cavities. Dental Health Importance When was the last time you scheduled a cat or dog teeth cleaning for your pet? If itโ€™s been more than a year or two, then your pet is likely due for a dental exam and cleaning in our office. All too often, pet owners donโ€™t understand the importance of dental care; as a result, many pets suffer in silence from common dental problems, including tooth decay, cracked teeth, chipped teeth, missing teeth, painful abscesses, and even gum disease.

What to Expect

When you bring your pet in for a dental exam in our office, our veterinarian will take a comprehensive look at the health of your petโ€™s teeth and gums. We can perform in-house X-rays as well, which can help to detect dental issues that may not be obvious from a visual exam alone. For example, dental X-rays can sometimes be used to diagnose intraoral masses that may need to be removed surgically.

In addition to routine exams and pet dental cleanings, weโ€™re also able to offer a wide range of dental treatment services in our office. This includes periodontology services, root canal treatments, and even restorative dentistry for your pet. Weโ€™re even able to perform intraoral mass excisions in our office, so weโ€™re your full-service clinic for just about all of your petโ€™s dental care needs.
